WHY “EMBER” BRIDES HAVE ALL THE FUN

Image
Hey guys, yes I know it’s been a while and I apologize for putting work before you but I’m here now and trust I come baring goodies.... according to our new Nigerian Slogan “Plenty Stew”  So today’s post is to tell you about my serious jealousy for  “Ember”brides. Yes I said it! I’m so jealous of them *rolls eyes*.  Before you get all righteous and judgy about it I promise after you read all my reasons I may be able to bring you over to my side of the table.  The Ember season is Sale Season Imagine you spent about 2000 dollars on a wedding dress only for a bride to buy that same wedding dress for 500 dollars because it’s on sale. Yes that’s one reason why I’m jealous. Everything is on sale in the ember so these are always the best times to shop for things you need for your wedding even if you plan on getting married next year you can always buy them and worry less later. Ember Season is new design Season  Vera Wang recently designed a new line of wedding dresses fo

8 VENDORS YOU SHOULDN'T HIRE FOR YOUR EVENT

Image
Hiring  the right wedding vendor is very crucial to your event that’s why it’s one of the most difficult task  for any bride. We must suggest you hire a wedding planner for your event because they are not biased and will totally get the best vendors in a heart beat but for the sake of this blog i will assume i'm advising a DIY bride. Most vendors get hired based on the uniqueness of their service and how it’s rendered while some are hired based on some other reasons but I’m here to talk to you about the vendors who you shouldn’t hire. 1.The Vendors that don't know what they are doing This first point is self explanatory. don’t hire them if they don’t know anything about the job. You know those people that say “how hard is it to fry small chops” yes those ones. Don’t hire them ! . I believe small chops has been a life saver for events since 1900 and anyone who thinks it’s easy is not your friend. Lol ( you can tell I’m a born again small chops lover) 2.The “ I

The Wedding Business is “BIG BUSINESS”

Image
Hey guys, So it’s the end of the month of March and I think this is the best time to have this post. Did you guys see all the weddings that took place in the month? "WOW" is the word that best describes the display of class, opulence and royalty in these weddings. Osibanjo & Bakare Wedding #FaMil2018 I won’t even try to shake any tables by asking which one was the best one or which bride was prettier. Let me just leave the table shaking to ...... LOL #FaMil2018 My concern today is the assumption of every one out there about the wedding business  when they see BIG weddings .  “Did you see that wedding? The decorator is in money mehn!!! “ Even I say it sometimes when I see some weddings. #FAAJI2018 Osibanjo & Bakare Wedding Everyone believes that the wedding business is big business because of what they see but being a Planner and Decorator myself I can’t help but see the hard work , persistence and brainstorm

How I Tripled my Instagram followers in 2016 by Achieving my goals!

Hi guys, Happy 2018!  This post is long overdue if you ask me but i think its never too late to motivate someone so here it goes..... When I started my business 5 years ago, I was barely getting clients and even the ones i got i had to practically give my services for free because "people" said just keep going , one day you will get the BIG break.    I was barely making ends meet with my business and I was wondering if I should just go back to find a medical science job.     So I decided in 2016 to set the biggest goal i could possibly imagine and use some of the business development tools I'd learnt from POIZE INSIDER NETWORK    I decided make my job more professional and beautiful until i get noticed by the one and only @bellanaijaweddings. I kept saying " before the year runs out bellanaija will post my work"     My sisters thought I was dreaming as they know I've been sending mails to them with no response and they only post jo

What I Learnt From `Atinu ́da 2

Hey guys ! So it's the end of the second quarter for 2017 and I have to say this was one of the best Quarter I've experienced in my business. It opened my eyes to new things and old things that I've always had but was just blind to see. The highlight of the quarter for me was my ATINUDA'2 experience, wow where can I start? The people, the ambience, the speakers and omg the food! but I'm definitely not here to talk about the culinary skills of SisiPepper or the Creative mixes from Mandies or Eventi, that's topic for another day . I learnt some business lessons that day and I want to share it with you so if you are in business let's go. DON'T BE AFRAID Too many of us are afraid to show what we can do for Fear of rejection or even acceptance. if only we can let ourselves go and allow our creativity flow from within without inhibitions we can create a revolution in our business. I learnt that if I can dream things I can work it to realit

Happy Brides are TheEventGirl Brides

"Happy Brides" TheEventGirl bridal shoot I'm so excited about the story behind this shoot because it is an evidence to the saying " if you can think it, you can do it"  On the eve of our 3rd year anniversary at TheEventGirl I thought about all I have achieved and all I haven't done and i took my notepad and wrote them down *Book 10brides for 1st Quarter  *Do a Themed photo shoot with known collaborators  *Plan a destination wedding by the end of the year 2017 I checked the first box in the first quarter with our Anniversary campaign in February and I started working on the theme for the shoot. Our mission @theventgirlng is to make every bride happy so I came up with "Happy Brides are TheEventGirl brides"  and our inspiration came from all things floral ,beautiful and fun just like spring.   Contacting collaborators was the next hurdle to cross, I made a call to a photographer friend of mine and I got discouraged because w

HOW TO OVERCOME UNEXPECTED EVENT DISASTERS

HOW TO OVERCOME UNEXPECTED WEDDING DISASTERS Hey guys! I missed talking to you. Got engrossed with our numerous brides and of course our training sessions. I'm back now with lots to share so stay glued! So in our training session last week one of the students came up and asked me "excuse me ma, what do you do when you planned for 1000 guest but 3000 shows up?" Because I'm such a story teller my answer took the whole class session. Lol It was interesting but before I tell you my answer let me share 3 things that I learned in my experience of disasters while planning events BE READY I want to be truthful and say this , as a planner it's common to experience unforeseen circumstances during your event be it major or minor. It's best to be READY! Have a plan B for everything. Also it pays to delegate because even as a  "super planner" one can not be everywhere at the same time. You dig? BE POSITIVE Your mind set is the most powerful tool y
